Every time I buy something (and those on this list – a dwindling minority to be sure that particular bracket I’m going to reference NOW – that won’t spend a red cent on anything – listen UP – this is for YOU TOO!), I either consciously or not use the Benjamin Franklin method before deciding whether or not to fork over the Ben’s.
Hehe.
And sometimes there are a lot of them I fork over!
And yet, every time I buy something – I essentially do what he did i.e. vet my purchase.
What did ole Benjamin do?
Well, something I highly encourage YOU TO DO especially when you’re buying some of my products, or even a single one.
Take a pen (or pencil if that works) and a sheet of blank paper, preferably UNRULED.
Like, 8 x11 printer paper.
Draw a line through the center.
No need to be perfect.
Write YES on the top of one column, and no on top of the other.
Write the reasons you SHOULD buy this product ie. the benefits of the product (and to help you out, there are plenty on each product page) – and the reasons you shouldn’t. (which only you can decide and no, if “price” is #1 on that column, that ain’t really a valid concern long term.
Short term, perhaps, but long term?
Nope.
Then, simply do what ole Ben did (and he really DID THIS).
Count the number of yes’s, and the number of no’s.
(and remember, be honest)
The column that wins the count – well – WINS.
If the yes’s win, you’ll buy.
If the no’s win, you won’t.
Can’t keep it simpler than that, eh.
Apply this rule to any of my products – lets start with the Rolls Royce of Fitness – and the Jaguar of Training . . . (Feline Fitness)
Later on, you could apply it to more (or if you already have those, replace with the product of choice).
This is an excellent tool to determine where your priorities lie …
Do it – and let me know!
Best,
Rahul Mookerjee
PS – Believe me, forking out the B’s is sometimes the BEST thing you can do for yourself. Invest in yourself, and you’ll never ever look back!
