Back in the day, I’d often crash at friends places – usually a certain Rickys – after a few drinks and dinner. All college going guys, one of Rickys roomates was a grad student Anindya from Bengal no less, hehe.
He made several stupid comments.
One night, we were cooking chicken and I was digging in, and he made a worried face.
“he’s eating too many pieces!”
I still remember the look Ricky gave his other roommate – “el cheapo”.
I mean, let a man enjoy his wrestling and eat for Christs sake! Lol.
Anyway, in the morning I’d wake up and do push-ups before heading back to the dorms to shower etc. (This was before I moved into an apartment myself)
And this so called intellectual from Bengal saw me doing them.
He was peeved (he couldn’t do a single one himself but that for him was beside the point. HA!)
“These people are strong”, he gestured around at the jocks and their girls on campus. I could feel the jealousy, the “I wish I got some too” pouring off him but said nothing, trying to keep a straight face.
“The brain matters! Work the brain! You can do all the pushups you want but it won’t make you smarter”.
And off he went in a huff.
A comment right on par with an idiotic one I got years later in China which I’ve mentioned so many times before.
I was doing pullups under the hot afternoon sun after a climb or two- guy shows up out of nowhere.
“Why do you do these? Where are you from?”
I ignored him.
“You need to work the brain more!” He pressed.
I ignored him, did 7 more pull-ups, turned around and suddenly…something. Guy just got up and took off like the wind without me saying a word.
That subconscious mind at work. For those that get it. So much for not working the mind?
These sort of dumb comments are made by low vibration morons with no energy.
Listening to the ex on her dumbphone with her even dumber laughter show on early in the morning (really, who destroys their brain – or lack thereof- that early??) – while I was cranking out my first 5 pull-ups of the day waiting for my tea to steep, writing this to you… I was struck by this memory.
And thoughts I’d share it.
Look, I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again.
Mind and body work together. You cannot vibrate at the highest levels or even close thereof if either one is not in sync with the other.
I wonder if the Bozos above understood the hands have the most connections to the brain for one… I’m not EVEN going to get into the deep breathing part, activating the subconscious mind etc!
Jock that doesn’t understand the importance of mental ultimately equates to the examples above too.
Pointless.
Your mornings should start with SOME physical activity. Could be lengthy hill climbs like I used to do. Could be a run. Could be 5 pull-ups or splits.
Could be as simple as the Rahul Mookerjee patented squat I’m going to do soon.
But breathe deeply, do something, anything
And do more throughout the day.
And that, my friend is that.
The 0 Excuses Fitness system contains tons of workouts you can do throughout the day to keep yourself supercharged and vibrating and therefore ACHIEVING at the very highest levels possible!
