So here is something I’ve been thinking about …

When I advocate visualization, I often do so via the “split screen” method (or derivative thereof) in your mind.

i.e. You see yourself where you are NOW in addition to (first) where you WANT TO BE.

Don’t get me wrong.

Where you WANT to be, and focusing on that is infinitely more important than the “now” in terms of actually getting where you want to be either fitness wise or life wise, or “any” wise hehe.

But at the same time, once that euphoria sets in and you feel the urge to “do”, it is EQUALLY important in a way to focus on where you are now, except from a “logical” perspective.

Simply ignoring the “present reality” won’t get you any closer to your future reality, my friend.

When you’re hungry for instance, (and perhaps don’t have two pennies to rub together to get what you want to eat), will it do you any “good” to focus on the “future riches and Baylonian feasts to come”?

Maybe if you’re an ascetic in the Himalayas …

But we mere mortals reading this would probably look for food to eat, and pronto!

And if that sounds too simplistic, let me tell you (another) a story.

When I was first made an offer to go to China by the company that took me there, my family was against it. Big time. And being it’s no secret that my family and myself (and by that I mean pretty much all my family, not just “one or two” people) have a “different philosophy in life”, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that they didnt.

Dad included.

But despite our very different philosophies in life, there are (curiously enough) some congruences when you look past the many differences, one of which being honesty, and the second being “what is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong” (and I’ve admittedly taken both to giddy extremes and keep doing so, hehe).

Hey, gotta stick to ONE path…

And the third was this.

“You have to look at what you’re getting NOW”, he told me.

Now, for background, said company was offering me a better position in the future “if I did a good job in China”.

But of course, as we all know, “ifs and buts” …

(Funny part is, I could have actually negotiated a better offer than they were making me in the here and now, except I didnt know it, and didnt kno how to , and no-one told me. At that point I was in a position of strength, more so than they ever).

As Donald Trump says, and something I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS followed in my life (way before I ever knew a person like Trump or Trump himself ever existed!!).

ALWAYS negotiate from a position of strength (and to that I’d add “assumed or not”. Or percieved or not).

It matters!

Anyway, the “what are you getting it now” does matter, and to me I saw (obviously) a far higher salary and benefits.

The chance to visit China.

Many other things I won’t detail here. 😉

But most of all, the FREEDOM (I was feeling nigh on STIFLED – big time – where I was before that, and …).

Yes, freedom is the most important thing for yours truly!

If I had stuck to the path my family had wanted me to take, I’d probably be somewhat close to semi – somewhat-millionaire status as “Bozo” Glyn Scofield claims he is (hee, hee) … but upon retrospection, would I change a damned thing?

Hell no.

It all happens for a reason.

And 0 Excuses Fitness, Miss Lee, the hill etc would never have happened .. if …

And more importantly, another business of mine that I run, something that even my most wildest detractors and admirers don’t know about, and probably never ever will, and wouldn’t dare to dream that yours truly actually does it, and has been for years would not have happened.

It was “meant to happen”.

China was and is, and probably will continue to be in some way, shape or form the vehicle that “continues to allow that to happen in my life”.

But back to it, I did see what I was getting in the “now”.

If I wasn’t getting that, I’d likely not have moved despite the future promises etc(and the potential). ;

You have to make the overall decision based upon GUT – on the spur of the moment, and this is what all successful people do my friend. And it’s what I’ve always done. i.e. What Henry Ford was famous for.

Make decisions quickly, and change them slowly, if at all.

And fitness wise?

Same thing.

You have to make a decision and stick to it, but you also have to see if you’re getting anything out of it NOW.

i.e. Out of your current fitness program.

Anything MEANINGFUL.

And if you’re secretly trolling people that do pull-ups galore while claming to be a “man monster” at deadlifts, for one, then your current fitness program isn’t giving you what you really want (ditto fo rthe opposite).

For me, it’s always been about personal satisfaction, that feeling of accomplishment, lasting feeling – – and good vibes – – lasting good vibes – and that “on top of the world” feeling that cannot be beat.

Move over pumping, toning and boobybuilding. I could care an iota less (and so should you, really).

And so, I engage in fitness programs which give me the best of both worlds.

The here and now – and the FUTURE as well.

Which path and program you choose, of course, is up to you, but if I were your brother, I know which I’d advocate you to take. . .

And thats my take on this. Yes, spiritual to a degree, but so be it!

Best,

Rahul Mookerjee

PS – Learn how to do pull-ups the right way – effortlessly – by investing in the numero UNO course there is out there right HERE.

PS #2 – Even my most ardent DETRACTORS haven’t taken me up on the challenge to prove (as they say) that there is a better course on pushups out there than Pushup Central. Will you be the frist one? Let me know if so, hehe. A great GIFT waiting in the wings if you CAN do it! 😉
