Walking, my friend – is a highly underrated exercise. Like pushups, most people think “it’s too easy”. It’s anything but especially if done right.

For years, I did walking up hill for hours a day and it got me into the best shape of my life.

Sitting here in this here neck of the woods with NO hills and very few inclines around, my thighs feel swollen – calves worked to the bone.

Squats? Yes, sure.

But running, roadwork, builds the entire body, especially the legs – differently.

Walking on the other hand is a much more calf intensive activity if done right.

All three activities mentioned above build the whole body and should well be included in any decent fitness regimen.

If you’re getting beat up with too much roadwork daily, switch to stretching and long walks the next. Maybe weighted, maybe uphill…

Do squats and pull-ups the next day.

And so forth.

Keys to include some form of heavy duty leg and back work in your training daily my friend. And core, grip – the former gets done with leg and back most of the time. The latter, if you’re doing back right.

And that’s that.

PS – Animal like workouts can give you the workout of your life in very little time and should be included as well. Find out more here.
